Serene Pavilion Hotel in Wadduwa commence operations
The Serene Pavilion Hotel in Wadduwa was declared open by the Minister of Tourism Nandana Gunatillake recently.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister Gunatillake stated that the tourism industry has a massive role to play in the local economy, with the end of the war in the country. In this regard, the private sector will receive many investment opportunities.
The Minister further expressed his appreciation to British investor Clive W Leech for investing Rs.600 million for a tourist hotel even while a war situation prevailed in the country. The Serene Pavilion Hotel in Wadduwa is situated in a well landscaped 7 acre coconut estate. A massive swimming pool, ayurvedic therapy centre, and many other facilities are on offer at this tourist hotel which has 12 units out of which, some open to the sea, while others open out to an inner courtyard.
The Serene Pavilion Hotel which is situated on the northern coast of Panadura and Wadduwa is equipped with reading rooms, shopping complexes, golf, cricket, and tennis play grounds.
Anura Lokuhetti, Chief Executive Officer of the Serene Pavilion Hotel said, “We invested in this tourist hotel project with out utmost confidence that the President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapakshe will succeed in winning the war and bringing about peace to the country.”
Member of Parliament Ravi Karunanayake, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism George Michael, Chairman, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau Saman Navaratne, Managing Director, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Dileep Mudadeniya, Private Secretary Kamal Deshapriya, Project Director Kapila Bandara and many other local and foreign representatives in the tourism trade participated at the event.
