Dining at Lavinia Breeze is a great experience as the dining room at Lavinia Breeze is, glassed in with floor-to-ceiling windows, where you could watch the wind and rain pelts the palm trees only a few feet away. The surf boiled, pulverising the beach with wild abandon. At Night it will be dark and stormy when monsoon weather hit the Mount Lavinia area of Colombo with a vengeance.

 
You would love to have delicious Crispy Fried Golden Prawn Cake it offers. The prawn cake is served atop a green papaya and bean salad, and a tomato and chilli sauce on top of that. The green bean and papaya salad alone will be good enough to die for, with slivers of green papaya, lightly cooked beans, peanuts, and red chillies. It has a sour and tart flavour in the mouth, but burned going down. The prawn cake is wonderful and crispy, and the tomato and chilli sauce added depth. It will be a wonderful combination of flavours! 
 

You can also have Ground Mix Seafood, Sweet Potato and Galangal Wontons. The green tomato marmalade is piquant, a little sweet, and a lot tart with plenty of attitude. The Saffron Infused Mix Seafood Chowder Garnished with Caviar Lavosh is thick but not cloying with loads of seafood. It is chowder the way chowder was meant to be - flavourful, coconut creamy, smooth. Delectable in a word.
 

The Lavinia Breeze also has a private dining area complete with a show kitchen as well as facilities for larger parties, including an open area beside the restaurant. Remodeling and expansion are planned, including the addition of a wine cellar, French kitchen, parking areas and additional function areas.
