Bandaranaike Museum

Housed in the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7, this museum holds photographs, objects and documents of the late Prime Minister, S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike. Visitors are given the opportunity to listen to recordings of some of his famous speeches.  




National museum Colombo

The National Museum of Colombo which was once called the ‘Colombo Museum’ was established on 1st January 1877 at Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha in Colombo 7. Entrance through Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7. English shows on the last Saturday of the month at 1400 hrs. Special shows in English can be arranged for parties of 75 or more. National Museum of Natural History

The National Museum of Natural History is located in the same premises as the National Museum. This museum depicts the natural heritage of Sri Lanka. It displays birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, botanical plants, gems and geological specimens and other things of interest found in the island.
